Although this may appear to be the same program, the 2007 version was significantly reworked to address the complexities of the Iraq War at the time. The 2005 show includes a segment with Niebuhr biographer Richard Wightman Fox, but in the 2007 show, we swapped this segment out to include Krista's interview with Paul Elie, who had recently written an article on Niebuhr for The Atlantic. One of the pleasant surprises of doing research about Reinhold Niebuhr again is finding this video of this 1958 interview now made available online by the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas. It's an incredible interview in which Reinhold Niebuhr addresses question of race and communism and patriotism and anti-semitism.
